The northern lights were spotted across parts of the northern tier on Monday. Another chance to see them will occur on Tuesday night.

Sky watchers across parts of the country's northern tier were treated to a celestial treat on Monday night as aurora were visible. The colors were even brighter across the higher latitudes.

The effects of the G-3 geomagnetic storm that occurred on Labor Day will persist into tonight, meaning it will still be possible to spot the aurora borealis across the northern tier.

You'll want to have a clear view of the northern horizon. The Northern Lights will be visible as soon as the sun sets. Check out sunset times with our astro card, and keep an eye on visibility with the WeatherRadar.
