Supercell storms are firing up in Texas, as storms continue in the Upper Midwest. The tornado threat will grow in both areas into the evening.

5:00 p.m. CT

The WindRadar shows gusts upward of 40 mph in the upper Midwest. Even outside of severe storms, winds will be strong enough to blow outdoor furniture and other items away. Power outages are also possible. Now is the time to make sure your electronic devices are charged.

A tornado watch is in place across portions of Iowa, Minnesota, and northwestern Wisconsin until 11 p.m. CT. Conditions are favorable for intense tornadoes.
