Tropical update
Monitoring: One wave, two waves

Monitoring the tropics. Tropical waves

Upslope we continue to go, with less than 20 days from the peak of hurricane season and we are monitoring tropical waves coming out of Africa.

The first one is located several hundreds of miles west of Cabo Verde Islands. This wave is traveling west-northwest up to 15 mph. Expect any development to be slow as it is taking its sweet time to travel the long Atlantic journey.

Track the tropical disturbance in our WeatherRadar

There is a low chance in the next 5 days to develop and if it happens it would likely be just to the northeast of the Leeward Islands.

Another day, another tropical wave

The tropical wave parade off the west coast of Africa will continue rampant. Although the next wave if expected to emerge from the continent in a couple of days, there is a chance it could develop just around the Cabo Verde Islands as weather conditions are expected to be conducive for this system to form before it tracks too much west.

All other areas across the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico are quiet.

We will continue to monitor the tropics closely and bring you prompt updates.
