Autumn cold front
Wet & breezy in Great Lakes, Northeast

An autumn cold front will push through the Great Lakes and eventually the Northeast over the next day, bringing the need for the trusty umbrella.

Breezy showers are already active across Michigan Wednesday morning, with a mix of thick clouds as the cold front drives eastward. The low-pressure trough associated with the wet weather was visible on the WindRadar Tuesday and it's also bringing gusts as high as 30 mph. Learn more below.

Today, the WeatherRadar shows the rain sticking to the Upper Great Lakes across Wisconsin and Michigan before reaching the lower Great Lakes states like Ohio, New York, and Pennsylvania by dinner time. The Midwest is getting a few showers this morning, but dry air is expected to take over, removing the chance for showers later today.

The Northeast will remain wet throughout the night and into Thursday morning, with the West Virginia Appalachians getting a quick sprinkle too. Keep an eye on your local forecast to know when you'll need the rain slicker.

The showers won't bring much in the way of drought relief, but every little bit helps. Almost every state, all but North Carolina, has some sort of drought impacting it. We did a review of this on Monday. Read all about it here.
