Breakfast Brief
Persistent East storms, heat shifts east

Persistent showers and thunderstorms will continue to bring heavy rainfall and isolated lightning across the South and Mid-Atlantic. At the same time, the western heat wave begins to shift east, focusing on portions of the northern Plains.,

A stalled front stretching from Texas to the Mid-Atlantic will spark scattered showers and thunderstorms to much of the eastern half of the lower 48 today. Stay tuned to the WeatherRadar and remain vigilant, especially if you've had heavy rain recently, as the risk of flash floods is higher due to saturated soils.
