Breakfast brief
Snowy Great Lakes and Northeast

A clipper will bring snow and gusty winds to the Great Lakes and Northeast today. Rain and mountain snow will spread across the Four Corners today as a slow-moving low pushes east. The Breakfast Brief is published daily, Monday through Friday, at 5:00 a.m. Eastern time.

Snow will continue today for parts of the Great Lakes and the Northeast as a clipper moves through. The WeatherRadar shows snow showers stretching from Detroit to Boston. You'll also want to keep an eye on the WindRadar, as gusts up to 30-40 mph are possible in cities like Pittsburgh, Rochester and Albany, N.Y.

Rain and snow also spread into the Four Corners today. Cities in lower elevations, such as Phoenix, will see rain, while the higher elevations, such as Flagstaff, Ariz., will pick up snow.

This low pressure will push into Texas tomorrow, and strong storms will be possible in the afternoon and evening. Damaging winds and hail are possible. With the threat of severe weather increasing mid-week, it's a good idea to make sure your Weather & Radar app alerts are turned on.
