Central & Southwest U.S.
1.2K miles of winds, rain & storms

An autumn low-pressure system is triggering active weather across the central U.S., stretching more than 1,200 miles. Chances of damaging winds, severe storms and flash flooding connect the Canadian Prairies all the way down with the Desert Southwest. Does this storm mean autumn weather is near for some?

The WeatherRadar shows strong thunderstorms in the northern Plains and Midwest early Monday, with thunderstorm activity expected to extend all the way down to Arizona. The low pressure and corresponding cold front, along with monsoonal moisture, will have the LightningRadar lighting up throughout the day.

Weather & Radar app alerts for heavy rainfall and severe thunderstorms are active. Not to be outdone, the WindRadar is turning red due to damaging winds kicking up along the front, especially on its back end for the High and northern Plains.

Due to the cold front, places like Denver, Colo., Sioux Falls, S.D., Lincoln, Neb., and Des Moines, Iowa, will notice a big cooldown between Monday and Tuesday - between 15 and 25 degrees cooler.
