Feeling tropical
Days of record nighttime heat

Miami-like lows creeping northward into the North Carolina Outer Banks.
Miami-like lows creeping northward into the North Carolina Outer Banks.

The Southeast has been dealing with record-hot and humid daytime temperatures, but thermometers are barely dropping throughout the nighttime hours, also tying or breaking records. Nighttime in the Outer Banks will be feeling much like a familiar Florida metro area, just 710 miles away.

South Florida residents are no strangers to tropical temperatures lasting all hours, but the Southeast has been introduced to prolonged daytime and nighttime record heat this summer, with this next stretch lasting through the week, keeping air conditioners busy.

The TemperatureRadar shows warm orange hues, especially along the Southeast Coast, all the way into the Outer Banks. Our Weather & Radar app forecasts are detailing low temperatures barely making it out of the 80s, with hotter feels-like temps in the mid-80s, very similar to the Miami Metro area.
