Be careful this summer
Heat can build quickly in your car

It's almost daily that we have heat advisories and warnings in the U.S., and we all know the dangers of heat, especially in vehicles.

But were you aware of exactly how quickly a car can heat up, and just how dangerously hot it can become? Take a look at our infographic below.

From the time you close the car door in at least 75°F heat - a realistic scenario in many parts of the U.S. in the coming days - it's just 30 minutes before the car is 104°F!

Of course, the exact evolution of the temperature in your car depends on whether you park in the sun or the shade and many other factors. Mind the TemperatureRadar.

As a rule of thumb, it's handy to know that in 75°F heat, it only takes five to ten minutes before the temperature is downright dangerous for children, animals, and others who can't get out of the car on their own.
