Weekend disruption
Another round of ice for Mid-Atlantic

It's only been a couple of days since the last ice storm brought as much as half an inch of ice to the Blue Ridge in West Virginia, Virginia and Maryland. Now another storm could bring a second round of a wintry mix.

Do you have plans that consist of reading a book, making cocoa, baking and enjoying wintry weather from your cozy home on Saturday? You're in luck if you do! A wintry mix consisting of sleet, snow and ice will make it tough to get out and about.

This is a large storm system, and it will impact more than just the areas mentioned above with rain, snow or ice. The WeatherRadar shows heavy snow coming across the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes with rain bringing up the southern flank from the middle Mississippi Valley to the Carolinas. Along the meeting point of the snow and rain will be a mix of freezing rain and sleet in very similar spots that received ice Wednesday into Thursday.

Although you may see ice along the rain/snow line stretching from the Midwest eastward, salt trucks will be busy in places like Charlottesville and Leesburg, Va., Franklin and Moorefield, W. Va., and Cumberland, Frederick and Bel Air., Md., ahead of Saturday's event. Winter weather advisories have already been issued here.

The WeatherRadar is the perfect tool to use that will show the expected type of precipitation, especially if you are somewhere in the middle of this system. Have your alerts switched on to receive the latest information.
