Helene's remnants latest
Rain and minor flooding still possible

Helene is a weak and diminished low pressure system spinning over the Ohio Valley. It will bring rain to the Ohio Valley today, but its true legacy will be the devastating it brought Friday.

The WeatherRadar shows Helene’s remnants disconnected from its source of tropical moisture. It will bring about 1 to 3 inches of rainfall to Kentucky, southern and central Indiana and southern Ohio, including Louisville, Ky., and Indianapolis.

This could produce localized flooding, but not nearly the devastation produced by Helene on Friday across the southern Appalachians from northern Georgia northward into southwestern Virginia.

It will continue to weaken today as it meanders to the East. On Sunday, it will spread scattered showers from the Ohio Valley into the northern Appalachians before moving into the Mid-Atlantic on Monday. Its upper-level remnants will depart the Atlantic Coast later Monday or early Tuesday.

Weather & Radar meteorologists will provide a comprehensive recaps of the hurricane's effect this weekend.
