Must be high pressure
Not a cloud in sight

High pressure dominates much of the eastern U.S., keeping things sunny and cloudless.
High pressure dominates much of the eastern U.S., keeping things sunny and cloudless around the Myrtle Beach, S.C., area.

The eastern U.S. has been warm and sunny the last several days, and the forecast continues for many through the weekend. If you're not seeing any clouds, high pressure must be present.

The WindRadar shows a high-pressure circulation - clockwise - off of the Carolina coast Friday afternoon. High pressure keeps things quiet, sunny and, especially for this time of year, plenty warm.

Open the WeatherRadar, pan over east and tap on the camera layer. These live views show the calm, quiet weather being experienced in the East. The opposite, under low-pressure influence, can be found along the Front Range, where wet and stormy weather is in the forecast.
