    Quick-moving PacNW storm

California gets a break
Quick-moving Pacific NW storm

The barrage of storms that impacted the West Coast is finally easing off. While California will get a break this weekend, another quick-moving low-pressure will impact the Pacific Northwest through the Northern Rockies.

After a week of what seemed like endless arrivals of intense storms fueled by the Pineapple Express, the hose will be shut off just in time for the weekend in California. California, including the mountains, will dry out, with high and low temperatures that will stay between 5 to 10 degrees below average for this time of year, especially across the northern three-quarters of California.

Along the coast, rain will come after the initial snow in many places.

Temperatures will be around the mid-50s for Central California, in the low-60s for the Los Angeles area, and in the low-50s for northern California. The lows will be around the freezing mark along the San Joaquin Valley, in the low-40s across the Central California coast, and the mid-40s for the Los Angeles area.

The following system that will impact the Pacific Northwest will arrive overnight tonight, bringing a mix of showers and snow to the coastal area. In contrast, heavy snow could fall along the I-5 area near Eugene just before sunrise. The snow will splatter across Central and Eastern Washington State and Oregon by the afternoon, while the rain will stay confined to the coastal region. The Cascades can expect periods of snow to last through Sunday night with another burst on Monday afternoon.
