Soggy Labor Day Weekend
Downpours, storms for Texas to SE

Stay alert as the weather will continue to be unstable throughout the Labor Day weekend across much of Texas through the Southeast.

Across coastal regions, rainfall could cause minor flooding and road closures. Rainfall across coastal Texas could reach two and a half inches through Sunday night. Across parts of central and North Texas rainfall could reach 1 and a half inches with some areas getting up to three inches.

The rainy weather will be caused by several low-pressure systems traveling over the area combined with stationary fronts that will linger through much of the weekend.

Texas through the Southeast will remain stormy during the long Labor Day Weekend.

It seems like the heaviest downpours will fall on Saturday into Sunday as a stationary front gets closer to the coast of the Lone Star State. But even by the beginning of the week, weather will remain unsettled, and we can still expect scattered thunderstorms to be present along most of the Gulf Coast. In fact, parts of the southeast will be affected by the same low-pressure systems traveling across the area and lingering stationary fronts.

North Georgia, including Atlanta could have up to two inches of rain and some areas could experience isolated higher amounts.
