Gusty storms from Midwest to Northeast

Big storm trouble across Midwest

Big storms could make a messy Monday from the Midwest into the Northeast.

While most of the weather attention is on the trouble Debby is making in Florida and the Southeast, a front draped from the Midwest to the Northeast will be the trigger for storms throughout this afternoon and evening.

These storms can be tracked using the WeatherRadar as they develop. On Monday morning, our WeatherRadar showed the outflow of rain-cooled and dense air moving away from weakening overnight storm, producing a line of clouds.

This video below shows these clouds spreading from the weakening storm.

Storms will be possible this afternoon and evening in Chicago, Milwaukee, Detroit, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Binghamton and Albany, N.Y., Boston, and Portland, Maine. Damaging winds will be the biggest threat, with some of the storms occurring during the afternoon rush.
