A major winter storm will be unfolding across the southern Plains today, before heading into the Mid-South and the southern Mid-Atlantic on Friday and Saturday. This live blog will be updated throughout the day.

3 p.m. CT

Travel conditions are expected to worsen tonight across north Texas as roads. Roads are slushy and could refreeze after dark, making them slick. This will be a common theme across Oklahoma and into Arkansas as the winter storm move eastward tonight.

10 a.m. CT

The WeatherRadar around Dallas and Oklahoma City is showing moderate snow moving across the southern Plains and north Texas.

In Dallas, roads are already becoming slick.

8:30 a.m. CT

The newest forecast calls for heavy snow to move from northern Texas northeastward into Ozarks, the central Mississippi and Tennessee valleys and the southern Mid-Atlantic.
