Pacific storm arrives
Windy storm hits Northwest

A big Pacific storm is rolling across the Northwest today, bringing heavy snow to the Cascades and the northern Rockies.

The WeatherRadar shows the rain moving inland while snow falls over the Cascades and the mountains of eastern Washington, northern Idaho and western Montana. Up to a foot of snow is possible in the highest passes.

The bigger concern will be the high winds that will be arriving with this system. The WindRadar shows gusts of 30 to 50 mph, with even higher winds in the higher elevations and the Strait of Juan de Fuca. These strong winds will continue through tonight into Tuesday.

Localized power outages are possible. Boat and ferry services could also be affected in the Seattle area.
