The WeatherRadar shows a fresh round of strong and even possibly severe thunderstorms rolling across eastern Texas and into the Deep South Wednesday and Thursday. Let's take a look at this early-season setup.

Although not as common as in the spring months, strong and severe thunderstorms can develop during the late months, especially across Texas, the Gulf Coast and the Deep South.

This week's set-up is a low-pressure system moving out of the Southwest. This same system is visible on the WeatherRadar today and will move across Texas and into the Gulf Coast over the next two days. Pulling cooler and drier air southward and drawing warm and water-laden Gulf air northward, strong thunderstorms and downpours will develop late Wednesday through Thursday. Damaging winds, hail and a tornado will be possible.

Frequent lightning strikes will be likely, too. Residents across Southeast and eastern Texas will need to monitor the situation closely Wednesday night. The threat shifts into Louisiana Thursday, with Alexandria, and Shreveport being awaken to storms.
