Video: Spring and Winter troubles ahead

Although March arrived timidly for much of the U.S., the month’s first weekend will have plenty of roar. Snow, ice, and dangerous storms are all possible.

The biggest troubles Saturday will be snow in parts of the Sierra Nevada and Rockies, a wintry mess in the upper Midwest, and dangerous storms in the Midwest and central Mississippi Valley.

Heavy rain moves into Northeast Sunday while a new spring storm system capable of severe storms develops later Sunday across the Mississippi Valley.
