Breakfast brief
East stays gray and soggy

Wednesday May 15th Breakfast Brief

Although it doesn't has the ring to it like it does in March, but the ides of May is upon us. Across the U.S., only the eastern third of the U.S. has to deal with soggy omens.

Better wear a hard hat

Wowser…. On this day in 2010, a hailstone measuring 7.75 inches fell in Wichita, Kansas. This is the largest measured hailstone in Kansas history and the hail storm that produced it caused extensive damage in southwest Wichita.

Today's weather outlook

The WeatherRadar is showing a slow-moving storm system stretching from the Mississippi Valley eastward to the Atlantic. The center of trouble will be from the central Mississippi Valley eastward into the Mid-Atlantic where heavy rain and thunderstorms will make for a soggy, stormy day. Storms are also rolling across central and east-central Florida in the morning, making for some hectic morning commutes.

A few afternoon showers will develop across the northern Plains while some wintry mix will be found across the central Rockies.
