Vehicles stuck
Even more snow for the Sierra

On Saturday, heavy snow stranded vehicles near Donner Summit, Calif., as a powerful Pacific storm brought moisture to the region. More snow is on the way today as yet another storm impacts the region.

After a stormy weekend, another atmospheric river will bring more rain and snow to the West Coast. Spots like Donner Summit, Calif., will see even more snow on top of what they had over the weekend. On Saturday, vehicles were stranded by the heavy snow on I-80 near the summit.

Today, the WeatherRadar shows additional rain, gusty winds and snow targeting the Northwest. Heavy snow will extend across the Cascades and Sierra. Some snow will also extend into the Rockies by the afternoon and evening. Rain totals will amount to 1-3 inches, with some spots along the coast picking up 4 inches. An additional foot of snow is possible in the higher elevations.

Tomorrow, torrential rain will move into western Washington, bringing the threat of flash flooding to cities like Seattle. We will also see some scattered snow showers in Colorado. Keep an eye on the WeatherRadar and make sure you check road conditions before traveling along mountain passes.
